Description: Astronauts Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper and Steve Bowen completed the third spacewalk of Endeavours mission to the International Space Station. The spacewalk began at 12:01 p.m. CST and ended at 6:58 p.m. for a total time of six hours and 57 minutes.Piper and Bowen focused their efforts on the continued cleaning of the stations starboard solar alpha rotary joint (SARJ) and the removal and replacement of the remaining trundle bearing assemblies (TBA). Today, Piper replaced three TBAs and Bowen replaced two. Five have been replaced during the missions prior two spacewalks, and one was replaced on the STS-124 mission this past summer. The two astronauts also cleaned the area around the SARJs drive lock assemblies, which help the joint to rotate and lock into place.
