Description: Michał Malinowski is a computer graphics professional turned storyteller and folklorist. Following a visit to Papua New Guinea Michał was bitten by the storytellers bug and has since gone on to co-author the book Polish Folktales and Folklore and to become a chief contributor to the revival of a storytelling movement in Poland. He has performed his storytelling programmes live on stage, at libraries, schools and on the radio and has been a guest speaker at storytelling festivals and events in England, Spain, France, Italy and Canada. In 2006, Michał was awarded a special prize by the Polish Minister of Culture for his contribution to the preservation and development of culture and in 2007 he received a UNESCO grant to organize an exhibition about the Heritage of Amadou Hampate Ba and West African Oral Tradition. Michał has founded and leads The Storyteller Museum, a new type of museum based on interactive technology used to present oral traditions and intangible heritage from all over the world. His vision for a road leading to greater global understanding is intrinsically tied to sharing and learning from oral traditions of indigenous cultures.
