  • Description: Jennifer Perlmutter is an artist with a lifelong interest in the creative merging of art and crafts, her career beginning with gilding, paint and other media. By 2001, Jennifer devoted herself to fine art, exploring metal leaf, watercolor, acrylics and oils. She ultimately found her niche in mixed media on wood and canvas, which she continues to use as her predominant medium today. Jennifer's TEDxMonterey talk focused on how to approach life as an artist, being authentic and open to the process of creativity to foster innovation. This year's TEDxMonterey inspired and engaged the Monterey community with fascinating leaders, inventors, scientists, artists, community activists and global dreamers. With an all star line up of inspirational speakers the Monterey Institute of International Studies hosted the event on April 15th, 2011 and enjoyed participation from over 400 people both in person and online. The theme of this year's TEDxMonterey was Cultivating Innovation, which dazzled the audience through the themes of question, engage and transform.
