With the role of the medical technician expanding, there are numerous opportunities for full- and part-time employment in both clinics and hospital laboratories. In addition career opportunities exist in government, research and veterinary laboratories. Learn how to collect blood, process clinical specimens, perform ECG's, set up Holter monitors, and perform a variety of lab functions. Emphasis is placed on becoming proficient in the collection of blood samples, performing ECG's, the use of laboratory equipment and fluent in medical terminology, while developing the professional attitude and demeanor needed for close patient contact.
