Description: By Amanda Natera through Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org This fine project begins with the Sufi Dervish tradition. Nice music accompanies a very detailed and well-organized intellectual work. An elaborate instruction as to how the Dervish dancing depicts kinetically the mystical philosophy of these doors or dervishes to the spiritual realm. Nice visuals historically and a modern performance selection is shown. Natera provides a detailed explanation of the dance and the clothing as well, for these celebrants of original creation and truth. Nice music accompanying this, but mightve been more interesting to hear the music to which they danced. Indian natyas (mispronounced here). Once again, super detail, you could do it yourself after! Excellent audio quality and video examples to illustrate elaborate dance principles. Once again, not sure if the lovely Indian music is actually what the model is dancing to. Looks like maybe, this time. Natera finalizes this documentary with the Lama dancing of Buddhism. This one is the least effective, as only a bit of dancing is seen, mostly we see Gelukpa monks filing in. The descriptions of the form and meaning of the dance is as elaborate as ever. Natera has a way with visuals. I appreciated the skillful use of panning images and the audio quality is excellent.
