Description: Dr. Thomas Scalea, the physician-in-chief of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, discusses his experience while flying on an aero-medical evacuation mission with the Air Force medics in Iraq in August to help shape future training for military medical teams worldwide. Dr. Scalea flew on the mission as a lead contributor to the training for the Air Force's Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills, known as C-STARS. Col.
