Women's Basketball Wins NAIA Team Scholar

For Release: (Immediately: July 28, 2010)Springfield, MO – The Evangel University women’s basketball was honored by the NAIA with a Team Scholar Award this week. For teams to be considered for a Team Scholar Award, a squad must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average for the 2009-10 academic school year. The team grade point average includes an average for every eligible player on their roster last season. Evangel’s women’s basketball team posted a 3.30 GPA last year. The average was 13th best among all NAIA-I women’s basketball programs nationally. On the court, the Crusaders finished last year with a 23-10 record and advanced to their second straight NAIA-I National Tournament.
