Financial Aid: Fear and Trembling

Most students and parents enter the financial aid process with fear and trembling.  They don’t know where to start.  They don’t know what questions to ask.  They don’t know the terminology.  They feel that paying for college will be impossible.
There are really 4 parts to the Financial Aid Partnership:
1.  Government Contribution (Federal & State)
2.  School Contribution (scholarships, grants, loans)
3.  Family Contribution (Dad & Mom, Grandpa, Grandma, etc)
4.  Student Contribution (That’s right student! You GET to help!)
Over the next few days, I will unpack a clear an concise way to think about paying for college.  Who knows?  It may not be that scary and perhaps you will have a better grasp of what the financial aid process may look like for you.
