University of Maryland co-sponsors International Conference on the Effects of Noise on Aquatic Life

(University of Maryland) More than 250 scientists, engineers, government advisers and groups concerned with environmental change are meeting in Cork, Ireland from Aug. 15-20, 2010 to consider the impact of human-generated underwater noise upon aquatic life. The international conference the Effects of Noise on Aquatic Life is co-organized by University of Maryland Biology Professor Arthur Popper, a leading expert in aquatic bioacoustics.
