Unit: RecreationCategory: Student ServicesSeries: CampusOpening Date: 08/31/2012Closing Date: 06/30/2013Description:The Outdoor Experience Program Supervisor works closely with the Associate Director of Recreation & Athletics, and the student Outdoor Experience Coordinator, to support the various program needs to operate a successful Outdoor Experience Trip Program, Outdoor Equipment Rental Program and Outdoor Center. The supervisor is responsible for covering scheduled Outdoor Center hours while assisting in inventory, distribution, inspection & maintenance of outdoor gear, outdoor equipment preparation for Outdoor Experience Program (OEP) trips and outdoor gear rental. In addition, the OEP supervisor will assist in pre-planning, implementing trip programming, and supervision of all OEP clinics, speaker series and activity participants. The Supervisor will also assist in organizing and conducting pre-trip meetings and may be assigned to be a driver for OEP trips which may include the Week of Wilderness (WOW) and Outdoor Adventure (OA) programs. Finally, Supervisor will participate in program training which will consist of function and specified training.Qualifications:Experience with the use and care of outdoor camping/backpacking gear. Ability to work independently with minimal direction.Prior experience leading group outdoor adventure trips (backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, etc )Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.Current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required (may be obtained after hiring)Verification of Leave No Trace (LNT) training required (may be obtained after hiring)
