Telecompaper is looking for a US correspondent to add to its news coverage for professionals in the telecoms industry. The position requires the ability to work independently, finding news and writing multiple stories per day on the important events in the sector. Coverage would be coordinated with the chief editor, based in Europe. The ideal candidate would be based in the US and able to cover news after the US stock market close.

This full-time position can encompass a wide range of coverage, sourced from company statements, press reports, interviews and market research, including news on:
- mobile, fixed and broadband services providers (AT&T, Verizon, Comcast etc)
- Internet and over-the-top players (Google , Yahoo, Netflix, Skype etc)
- major players in the components and hardware industry (Apple, RIM, Intel, Qualcomm etc)
- product and service launches, contract wins, corporate news such as M&A and start-up financing, and regulatory and government affairs.

This is a freelance position, based on a one-year engagement. The correspondent would have remote online access to Telecompaper’s content management system and resources. Working hours are flexible, and payment can be based on a per-story or hourly basis initially, with the possibility of a monthly retainer for the right candidate.
