Walsh started slow, losing the first two games 22-25 and 17-25, and then fought back in game three to win 29-27. Pushing through a point-for-point battle in game four, the Cavaliers came out on top with a score of 25-23.
Walsh University women's cross country team opened the season and placed third as a team in the annual Ric Sayre Invitational Saturday morning. John Carroll won the event with a low score of 28. Mount Union finished second with 56, 40 points ahead of the Cavs.
