Role Description: Geoscience Australia undertakes research into the impacts of disasters on people and the environment. To achieve this GA needs a researcher in the areas of population projections, analysing the spatial distribution of populations statically and throughout the day and year, and understanding the social impacts of hazards. The position provides a unique opportunity to work in a diverse role on an important and exciting research agenda.
The role will suit applicants with experience or qualifications in demography, human geography, a social science field with a quantitative or spatial focus, or an applied statistician with experience in social data.
The level that the successful applicant will be appointed to is dependent on their skills and experience. Applicants should refer to the appropriate work level standards in the Geoscience Australia Union Collective Agreement and address the shortlisting questions in their application. Each shortlisting question identifies the capability category it relates to.
