Department: RadiologySalary: $59,873.00 to CommensurateAdvertising Ends On: Applications are being accepted for consideration; however, the position may be filled at any time.Job Duties: Perform applied research on problems which present critical or unusually difficult obstacles to understanding and which involve the development of new theories or methodologies with complete responsibility for all aspects of the research project.
The successful candidate is anticipated to contribute to existing research programs, with ability to develop independent research programs and actively form and lead multidisciplinary teams with strong enabling interactions with other researchers to advance imaging on high field MR imaging systems.
Support the design and development of new MR imaging coils for human and animal MR imaging systems.
Develop pulse sequences and spectroscopic measurements for MR imaging systems.
Develop a dual tune proton/phosphorus coil for the human head for use on the research dedicated 3T Siemens scanner.
Develop fast imaging sequences for dynamic assessment of T1rho imaging.
Develop a collaborative research program to utilize high field MR imaging in the field Neuroimaging.
Help to advance small animal MR imaging. Work with investigators to secure a high field animal imaging system.
Identify and define new research focus areas in high field MR imaging.
Report results from research studies in publications, white papers, and technical documentation.
Develop new proposals for research and obtain support for new and continuing research activities.
Participate in determining research priorities and planning programs of research.
Operate and maintain equipment in the research core facility.
Train faculty and students in the operation of the core research facility equipment and software.
Assist faculty with the design of constructs and experiments necessary to achieve the goals of their projects.
Participate in submission of research grants with faculty research projects as well as submission for large equipment grants for the core research facility.
Perform experiments and collect and analyze data.
Maintain liaison with sponsoring agencies and organizations as well as with other research and educational institutions.
Manage the conduct of all or part of the core facility including staff selection, assignment and scheduling, monitoring of facility funds, coordination of data generation and analysis and
identification, acquisition and use of equipment and facilities.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.
