Unit: School of EngineeringCategory: LecturerSeries: Temporary TeachingArea: Computer Science and EngineeringOpening Date: 03/19/2012Description:The School of Engineering at the University of California, Merced is seeking experienced teachers of programming languages like Java, C, C++, Perl or Python, Statistical analysis tools like R and Matlab and familiar with the POSIX programming interface and developing environments both in Unix and Windows is desirable, and capable of teaching data structures to lower division undergraduate Computer Science and Engineering Courses, including required lower division Introduction to Computing courses and Introduction to Computer Science and Engineering courses in the 2012-2013 Academic Year:This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the Agreement for the Lectures Unit between the University of California and the American Federation of Teachers.Qualifications:Masters degree or equivalent terminal degree in related field required; exceptions may be made for comparable experience. A record of teaching excellence that demonstrates broad experience working with students of different abilities, ethnic backgrounds and educational attainment; a record of scholarly achievement pertaining to teaching of Engineering classes preferred.
