Experience in labour market analysis includes research in the unemployed’s interaction with the labour market, analysing the sectoral and occupational division of labour on national, provincial and regional levels and investigating economic development and the resulting interaction between workers’ skills and the skill requirements of the available jobs.

      Benchmarking process - occupational and educational standards Has been a researcher in the area of labour market and skills development at the Human Sciences Research Council for 12 years (1996-2008).
      2008: A study for the Department of Labour to ascertain scarce skills needed in South Africa. The main objective of the project was to identify, collate, interpret and verify information on scarce skills currently available within the South African labour market.
      2009: A study for the Department of Provicial and Local Government on training needs in disaster risk management.
