Group - GSG 9 - Ihr Einsatz ist ihr Leben

GSG 9 is a German TV-series which is about the special unit GSG 9 der Bundespolizei of the German police. The first episodes weren't very successful, but after a few weeks the series got higher ratings. The second season with 12 new episodes premiered on February 14, 2008. Its German title is a pun on both the words "Einsatz" and "Ihr". "Einsatz" can mean either "mission" or "stake"/"bet"/"dedication"/"input" while "Ihr" can mean both "their" and "your" depending on grammatical case. It could therefore be translated in one of three was, either GSG 9 - Their Mission is Their Life, GSG 9 - They Put Their Lives at Stake or GSG 9 - Their Mission is Your Life. Theoretically it could also be translated as GSG 9 - Their Wager is Your Life, GSG 9 - Your Wager is Their Life, or GSG 9 - Your Mission is Their Life, these three alternative translations though seem to be far less likely meaning for obvious reasons. The series is also known as GSG 9 - Die Elite Einheit (GSG 9 - The Elite Unit) and GSG9 - Fünf Männer - Ein Team (GSG9 Five Men - One Team) The series primarily deals with a fictional unit of operatives in the GSG 9, deployed under the mandate of the Bundespolizei in cases when they are faced with criminal or terrorist cases that regular police forces couldn't deal with.
