            • Hydrogen from acidic water
( DOE/Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory ) A technique from Berkley Lab for creating a new molecule that structurally and chemically replicates the active part of the molybdenite catalyst paves the way for developing catalytic materials that can serve as effective low-cost alternatives to platinum for generating hydrogen gas from water.

            • Hydrogen from acidic water: Researchers develop potential low cost alternative to platinum for splitting water
A technique for creating a new molecule that structurally and chemically replicates the active part of the widely used industrial catalyst molybdenite has been developed by researchers with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab). This technique holds promise for the creation of catalytic materials that can serve as effective low-cost alternatives to platinum for generating ...
            • Will bubble-powered microrockets zoom through the human stomach?
Scientists have developed a new kind of tiny motor — which they term a "microrocket" — that can propel itself through acidic environments, such as the human stomach, without any external energy source, opening the way to a variety of medical and industrial applications. Their report in the Journal of the American Chemical Society describes the microrockets traveling at virtual warp speed for ...
            • Bubble-propelled microrockets 'may work in stomach acid'
Washington, Feb 9 (ANI): Scientists have designed tiny "micromotors" that propel themselves through acidic environments using hydrogen bubbles.
            • Microrockets travel at virtual warp speed
Scientists have developed a new kind of tiny motor capable of propelling itself through acidic environments - such as the human stomach - without any external energy source. read more
            • Microrocket can travel through acidified human blood serum
Scientists have developed a new kind of tiny motor - which they term a "microrocket" - that can propel itself through acidic environments, such as the human stomach, without any external energy source, opening the way to a variety of medical and industrial applications.
            • Bubble-powered microrockets zoom have potential to zoom through the human stomach, other acidic environments
Scientists have developed a new kind of tiny motor -- which they term a "microrocket" -- that can propel itself through acidic environments, such as the human stomach, without any external energy source, opening the way to a variety of medical and industrial applications. Their report describes the microrockets traveling at virtual warp speed for such devices. A human moving at the same speed ...
            • Acid Rain Change
Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it possesses elevated levels of hydrogen ions (low pH). It can have harmful effects on plants, aquatic animals, and infrastructure. Acid rain is caused by emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids. Measurable ...

In a Maryland lab, a scientist has been laboring the past two weeks to determine whether a tiny bone sample from an Ice Age animal found late last year on a local work site can be carbon dated.
