    Endemic pemphigus, also known as endemic pemphigus foliaceus and fogo selvagem (Portuguese for "wildfire"), is a disease that is clinically, histologically, and immunopathologically the same as sporadic pemphigus foliaceus in any individual patient, but that is endemic in the rural areas of Brazil, especially along inland riverbeds.Freedberg, et al.
