- Orchardist fined, does not admit fault in school bus drift spray incident
EAST WENATCHEE — An East Wenatchee orchardist denies his drift spray hit an Eastmont School District bus in June 2010, but will pay a penalty in a settlement with the state Department of Agriculture. Gene Welton agreed Jan. 10 to pay a $500 penalty for the June 11, 2010 incident, said Agriculture spokesman Mike Louisell.
