Congratulations to the region that hosts the sports team that won the recent televised sporting event! Here is last week’s puzzle: Watching this evening’s televised sporting event (which will remain nameless, so as to save me visits from intellectual property lawyers), I remembered that I took part in the curious office practice of wagering on the score of the game at the end of each quarter.

          • The bishops go off the deep end
Just as I was publishing my post about Catholic tribalism on Friday, predicting that the brilliant White House "accommodation" on contraception wouldn't mollify the U.S. Conference of Bishops, the bishops released a statement that made them seem, well, mollified, at least a little. The new Health and Human Services regulations were "a step in the right direction," their statement read, and so I ...
          • Watch The Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 Collection Finale
The Marc Jacobs fall 2012 collection was a study in layering—layering of textures, colors and prints. One look alone already piled on a number of elements including a sequined fake fur coat, a floral brocade skirt, ostrich leather shoes, and a fox and goat fur hat. And speaking of hats, they came oversized—exaggeratedly so—in all sorts of colors and patterns. There were so many references too ...
