         Group description

    Poa annua, or annual meadow grass, is a widespread low-growing, tufted, annual plant in temperate climates. 'Poa' is greek for fodder. It is one of the sweetest grasses for green fodder, but less useful as hay. OTher names include annual bluegrass, dward meadowgrass, low speargrass, May grass. It has a slightly creeping, fibrous, rootstock. The stem grows from 15–25 cm high. They are slightly flattened. It is said that this palt is a hybrid between Creeping Meadow Grass Poa supina and Early Meadow Grass Poa infirma.
