Abstract: Chemical examination of Cleome gynandra (whole plant excluding seeds) led to the isolation and identification of a novel (20S, 24S)-epoxy-19,25-dih ydroxydammarane-3-on e hemiketal (1). The structure of the new compound, designated cleogynol, was determined using spectral and chemical methods.
