    • Abstract:  Abstract Despite that reuse libraries are now well adopted during software development step, software evolution step is not yet covered by this kind of beneficial approach. In this paper we present the "evolution shelf", a generic infrastructure to achieve for-reuse and by-reuse techniques within the field of software evolution. The basic idea behind that is to propose and encourage the reuse of recurring and reliable evolution expertises to achieve the structural evolution of a software system at the architectural level. For that purpose, the shelf assists architects in classifying, storing and selecting reusable architectural evolution operations. The underlying concept that we propose to capitalize the expertises is called "evolution style" and it mixes a syntactic and a semantic description format. These ideas form a core for a long-term vision in which it is possible to build a business model of evolution-of-the-she lf (EOTS) with the special objective to decrease the efforts and the risks related to the evolution activities.

          • Hip Hop Evolution Files: Heritable Traits vs. Inherited Traits
I got guest lecture for a professor at my new institution. He teaches a senior level undergraduate course in Evolution. It was the very first very public thing that Dr. Lee did before the Zoology Department. I was nervous (I’m always nervous before I give any type of presentation). I warned the prof, also a young guy that I’d like deliver a Hip Hop Evolution lecture and gave a link to my ...

Ten-year-old Jackson Hinkle, of Nashua, spoke quietly but forcefully to legislators Tuesday, outlining his thoughts against teaching evolution as a theory in New Hampshire public schools. Jackson, a student at Charlotte Avenue Elementary School, was among several students and science teachers who testified against House Bill 1148 at a public hearing Tuesday morning in Concord. The bill is ...
          • Genes may travel from plant to plant to fuel evolution: study
The evolution of plants and animals generally has been thought to occur through the passing of genes from parent to offspring and genetic modifications that happen along the way. But evolutionary biologists from Brown University and the University of Sheffield have documented another avenue, through the passing of genes from plant to plant between species with only a distant ancestral kinship.
