According to The Pilot News, the town council recently voted unanimously to stop contaminating their own water supply after finally doing their own research, and after learning that water fluoridation is not mandatory in the first place. Its also expense. Council president McFarland says he sees no reason to continue it. Here is another reason to do away with spiking the water. Last year it was revealed that Fluoride is actually manufactured in China. An engineering report for the city of Boulder, Colo. noted that the fluoridation chemicals used for the city's water had been evaluated and found to be contaminated with heavy metals. The bags were being imported from China under no regulatory monitoring of acid or salt content. The president of the Pure Water Committee of Western Maryland came across that report and then visited a local water filtration plant were he found bags of floride that weren't labeled with any relevant information. He contacted the plant's chemical supplier, Univar USA, and was referred to Sovay fluorides who then informed him that it was manufactured by Shanghai Minthchem Development in China.
