    • Abstract:  The removal of an aortic cannula at the termination of cardiopulmonary bypass is occasionally associated with complications like bleeding, atheroembolism and dissection. An alternative method to decannulate using a side-biting non-crushing clamp is suggested to mitigate against these complications.
