    • Abstract:  Finding information on the Web is a very difficult but, unfortunately, one of the main tasks for internet users. In order to help users to make good use of the continually growing enormous amount of information provided on the Web, some Web search systems have been designed and popularly used over the internet. These systems can be mainly divided into two types: one is the so called index-based Web search engine, such as AltaVista, Yahoo, etc, in which an, usually huge, index database is cre- ated and maintained. The other is the so called on- line Web search tool, such as Fish-search[2, 3, 4], NETkumo[17, 18, 19], etc, in which no database is needed to be maintained. Doing on-line search on the Web is in general very time-consuming. In order to offer a search session to users in a timely fashion, some search heuristics suitable for the Web structure have been proposed and implemented in some on-line Web search tools[4, 19].
