Abstract: The value of citation analysis for identifying important scientific work has been amply illustrated by the many studies we have reported on highly cited papers, journals, and authors. It is less well known that a high correlation exists between citedness and other forms of scientific recognition. The purpose of this essay is to document this correlation for the 250 most-cited primary authors.
